GAME NOTES: The Siena Saints will attempt to continue their winning ways and the Monmouth Hawks are seeking to get back into the win column, as the two teams meet tonight at the MAC in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action.

Siena defeated Fordham, 79-69, on Tuesday night to win consecutive games for just the second time this season. Junior Rob Poole scored a career-high 28 points for the Saints, who used a 22-0 run in the second half to turn a 13- point deficit into a comfortable lead. Marquis Wright added 14 points, five assists and four steals, as Siena won for the third time in four outings.

Poole (15.4 ppg, 6.0 rpg) leads the Saints in both scoring and rebounding, while Evan Hymes is the only other double-digit scorer for Siena with 10.1 ppg. As a team, the Saints average 70.4 ppg and shoot 42.5 percent from the field. However, opponents average 75 ppg and hit nearly 44 percent of their total shots.

Monmouth is coming off a tough 59-52 setback to Wagner on Monday. Deon Jones led the Hawks with 15 points and eight rebounds, but the team shot only 29 percent from the field, including a paltry 3-of-16 from 3-point range, as they had a three-game winning streak halted.

Jones leads the Hawks in scoring this season, pouring in 17.1 ppg. He is also tied with Tyrone O?Garro for the team lead in rebounds with 6.7 per contest. Andrew Nicolas also average double-digit scoring for Monmouth, registering 15 ppg. Nicolas hits nearly 40 percent of his 3-point tries, as the Hawks shoot 40.4 percent from the field as a team and nearly 37 percent from beyond the arc.

These two schools have faced each other just three times previously, with Siena winning twice. This is the Saints' only road game in a 38-day span, stretching from Dec. 9-Jan. 15.

The Saints are trying to post their second league road win of the season after winning just two MAAC road tilts the last two years combined. Monmouth, meanwhile, is playing the fourth leg of a five-game homestand. The Hawks get the nod.
