GAME NOTES: The Air Force Falcons attempt to continue their winning ways on Saturday afternoon when they host the UC Riverside Highlanders in a non- conference tilt at Clune Arena.

The Falcons come into this contest with a brief two-game win streak in tow, as they have topped both South Dakota (94-86) and Western State (94-53) behind offensive eruptions.

On Monday, the Falcons flew past Western State in a 41-point rout. Forward Marek Olesinski scored 16 points and Justin Hammonds posted his first career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, as the Falcons used a 20-5 run early in the second half to go ahead 66-33. Air Force increased the lead to as many as 44 points in the final minutes, while cruising to its largest margin of victory this season.

Tre Coggins leads Air Force in scoring, netting 16.2 points per game. The guard followed closely by Olesinski and Max Yon, who both average just over 13 ppg. The Falcons as a team average nearly 75 points per game, but are allowing just over 71 on average.

UC Riverside last took the court on Dec. 5 when it beat La Verne 92-77 to end a two-game losing streak. The victory inched the team closer to the .500 mark, as the Highlanders are new 3-4 on the campaign.

Chris Patton led five players in double figures, scoring 20 points, while the Highlanders made 25-of-27 free throws as a team in the win over La Verne. Sam Finley added 16 points, Nick Gruninger chipped in with 15, Taylor Johns scored 12 and Lucas Devenny tied his career-high with 10 to round out the Highlanders' double-digit scorers.

Johns paces the UC Riverside offense at 15.4 points per game. He and Patton are both averaging a team-high 7.3 boards per game, and Johns is now making 60.0 percent of his field goal attempts -- the fourth highest percentage in the Big West Conference.

The Highlanders and Falcons have played on just one prior occasion with Air Force topping UC Riverside, 61-53, at the SRC Arena, on Dec. 22, 2012.

With Air Force wrapping up a eight-game homestand, expect the Falcons to continue to cruise, but not without a fight.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Air Force 72, UC Riverside 68
