GAME NOTES: The Butler Bulldogs and DePaul Blue Demons both go after their first Big East Conference wins tonight, as the two teams meet at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Butler has lost two straight, both conference games, to fall to 10-4 on the season. Last time out, the Bulldogs dropped a 79-68 decision to Xavier.

Butler blew a five-point halftime lead, hitting just 9-of-29 second-half shots. Senior Khyle Marshall led the Bulldogs with 14 points, while leading scorer Kellen Dunham was limited to just 11.

Dunham is averaging 17.9 ppg for Butler, which averages 74.6 ppg but is scoring just 70 ppg in Big East action, and that includes a 73-point overtime output in its conference-opening loss to a ranked Villanova squad.

Marshall is the Bulldogs' second-leading scorer at 15.9 ppg. No other Butler player averages in double figures.

DePaul is coming off an 81-62 setback to 23rd-ranked Creighton on Tuesday night. Brandon young scored a season-high 24 points, but it wasn't enough as the Blue Demons fell to 0-3 in the Big East. DePaul led 28-24 late in the first half only to see the Bluejays go on a 13-4 run to end the half and take the lead for good.

Melvin Cleveland leads the Blue Demons in scoring and rebounding, averaging 15.8 ppg and 6.4 rpg. Young is next with 14.1 ppg. However, DePaul averages only 70.9 ppg and shoots 42.9 percent from the field.

DePaul has dropped three straight and four of five overall, and is only 2-3 on the road this season. Butler is strong at home, going 6-1 at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

That said, expect the Bulldogs to put another tally in the win column, its first as a member of the Big East.
