GAME NOTES: The Indiana Hoosiers have lost two straight contests, and will seek to put an end to their streak as they travel to face the Purdue Boilermakers in a Big Ten Conference clash at Mackey Arena.

Indiana has lost two in a row, three of its last four, and five of its last seven games. The Hoosiers are coming off a tough 66-65 loss to Penn State Wednesday, and find themselves standing at 4-7 in the conference.

Purdue broke up a four-game losing streak with a triple-overtime victory over Minnesota, but dropped its most recent outing against Ohio State, 67-49, last Saturday. The Boilermakers sport a 4-7 conference record, identical to Indiana's.

Purdue leads a long-running all-time series with Indiana, 112-88. This is the first and only time these teams will meet on the court during the regular season this year.

With six seconds left to play, Tim Frazier hit a layup to put the Nittany Lions ahead of Indiana Wednesday night, giving Penn State the win over the Hoosiers. Yogi Ferrell led Indiana in scoring with 16 points, also dishing out a team-best six assists. Will Sheehey netted 12 points, and Stanford Robinson chipped in 11 in the loss. Noah Vonleh grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds.

Ferrell leads the Hoosiers this season in scoring with 17.5 ppg and a team- best 97 assists. Vonleh, a freshman, is second on the Hoosiers with 1.5 ppg, connecting on 54.2 percent of his shot attempts in 24 games played. Vonleh's 9.6 rpg average is a team best, along with his 33 blocked shots. Sheehey checks in at third on the squad in scoring at 10.1 ppg.

Purdue went into the locker room at the end of the first half against Ohio State down by six points, and the two teams traded baskets to open the second frame. But Ohio State eventually blew ahead to grab the 18-point victory. Kendall Stephens led the Boilermakers with 12 points in the losing effort, while Rapheal Davis and A.J. Hammons each chipped in 11 points. Hammons grabbed seven rebounds and recorded three blocked shots to round out his stat line.

Terone Johnson, who scored just three points against Ohio State, leads the team in scoring this season, netting 12.2 ppg on 40.2 percent shooting from the floor. Hammons is second on the team, averaging 10.4 ppg with a team- leading 7.4 rpg. Ronnie Johnson, who averages 10.5 ppg, tops the team with 90 assists on the year. The Boilermakers are averaging 72.8 ppg this season through 24 games played.

Purdue has really struggled in Big Ten play recently, having won only a triple-overtime game against Minnesota in the team's past six games. Even on the road, the Hoosiers should still be too much to handle offensively.
