GAME NOTES: Two of the top defensive teams in the Southern Conference get together at Benjamin Johnson Arena in Spartanburg, South Carolina, as the College of Charleston pays a visit to Wofford.

The College of Charleston is coming off a 69-54 home win over The Citadel on Thursday. Willis Hall shot 7-of-8 from the field for 14 points to help lead the Cougars. Andrew Lawrence scored 12 points and Anthony Stitt added 10 points for Charleston, which snapped a two-game losing streak. Adjehi Baru ripped down 12 rebounds for the home team.

The Cougars currently rank No. 20 in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage defense, holding foes to a 28.7 percent clip. The Terriers are holding opponents to just 30.7 percent.

Lawrence (14.1 ppg), Stitt (10.9 ppg) and Baru (10.2 ppg, 8.9 rpg) are the top three scorers for the Cougars, as they are holding teams to 61.9 ppg. That's just behind Wofford's conference-best yield of 59.8 ppg. The College of Charleston is shooting just 66.1 percent from the foul line, which is next-to- last in the SoCon.

As for the Terriers, they are averaging a league-low 59.3 ppg. Wofford also played on Thursday and earned a 63-50 home win over Furman. Spencer Collins led the way with 21 points. Karl Cochran added 15 points and Lee Skinner just missed a double-double with 10 points and nine boards.

Cochran (16.1) leads the team in scoring, while Collins (11.9) is second in point production. Skinner (11.0 ppg) is third, but is also leading the team in rebounding at 7.6 per outing. The Terriers are shooting 39.1 percent from the field and 32.5 percent from behind the 3-point arc. Wofford ranks last in the SoCon in field goal percentage and 11th in three point percentage.

Wofford has won three straight against the College of Charleston, but the Cougars have been playing exceptionally well on defense and should be able to nudge past the Terriers.
