NCAA Game Summary - UNC Greensboro at Rutgers

(Saturday, December 14)

Final Score: Rutgers 89, UNC Greensboro 72

Piscataway, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Myles Mack scored a game-high 21 points, helping the Rutgers Scarlet Knights down the UNC Greensboro Spartans, 89-72, at the RAC.

Mack shot 6-of-11 from the field, including 4-of-6 from the perimeter for the Red Knights (5-7) and also posted eight assists. Kadeem Jack (18 points), Wally Judge (13) and J.J. Moore (12) also reached double figures, with Judge hitting all six of his field goal tries and clearing a team-best eight rebounds.

Kyle Cain led the Spartans (5-6) with 18 points on 8-of-15 from the floor. Tevon Saddler and Kayel Locke notched 13 and 11 points, respectively, although the former was also guilty of eight of the unit's 18 turnovers.

The Scarlet Knights got off to an excellent start, shooting 56.3 percent from the field and sinking 11-of-15 free throw attempts in the first half. The Spartans failed to match those marks, shooting 41.9 percent from the floor and 3-of-5 at the line, and they trailed 52-33 at the half as a result.

Rutgers led by as many as 23 points early in the second half. Though the Spartans improved during the final 20 minutes, shooting 45.2 percent from the field to the Knights' 43.3 percent, it was just not enough offense to erase the lead at any point.

The Knights capitalized on Spartan turnovers, scoring 26 points as a result, as they snapped a four-game losing streak in an attempt to get their season back on track.
