Indianapolis, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Khyle Marshall netted 26 points, leading the Butler Bulldogs to an overtime victory over the Vanderbilt Commodores, 85-77, at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Marshall shot 11-of-15 from the field for the Bulldogs (3-0), and Kellen Dunham scored 16 points on 3-of-7 from the 3-point range. Kameron Woods added 10 points, nine rebounds and four blocks.

Eric McClellan had a big game for the Commodores (2-1) with a career-high 29 points to go with six rebounds. Damian Jones scored 12 points but fouled out at the beginning of the overtime period. Rod Odom chipped in nine points and six rebounds in the losing effort.

The teams stayed evenly matched through the first half of play, with Butler taking a slight advantage from 3-point range, where it shot 6-of-9 to Vanderbilt's 3-of-9. At halftime, the Bulldogs held a 38-30 lead.

The Commodores found their scoring touch in the second half, shooting 54.2 percent from the field. That included a run in the final five minutes of regulation where they outscored Butler, 14-8. McClellan went to the foul line with 11 seconds left with the Commodores down by one, but while he made the first attempt to tie the game, he missed the second only for Vanderbilt to corral the offensive rebound. After McClellan was called for a travel with two seconds to play, Dunham missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer and the game went to overtime.

In the extra session, the Bulldogs did not miss from the field (4-of-4), as they rattled off 15 points to pull away, seal the victory and get off to a three-game winning streak to begin the season.
