NCAA Game Summary - Arkansas at L-S-U

Baton Rouge, LA (Sports Network) - Ralston Turner netted a game-high 16 points to push the LSU Tigers to a 71-65 victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks in a Southeastern Conference battle at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Justin Hamilton came up big in the contest for LSU (13-9, 3-5 SEC), as he finished with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocked shots. Anthony Hickey and Eddie Ludwig added 12 points each and Johnny O'Bryant III grabbed 11 boards for the Tigers as they snapped their three-game losing streak.

Mardracus Wade paced the Razorbacks (16-7, 4-4) with 15 points. Julysses Nobles contributed 14 points and Rashard Madden scored went 5-of-6 from the field for 10 points. Michael Sanchez pulled down eight rebounds in the losing effort.

The Tigers took a 35-31 advantage into the intermission after they shot 43.8 percent from the field in the opening period. Arkansas made just 33.3 percent of its field goals, but remained close by converting on 11-of-12 attempts from the charity stripe in the first half.

LSU opened up the second period with a 6-0 run, but the Razorbacks shot 46.7 percent from the floor to stay close to the home team. The Tigers stayed ahead by making 16-of-24 from the charity stripe in the final 20 minutes.

LSU was very active on the defensive end and managed to convert the Razorbacks' 19 turnovers into 25 points. Arkansas scored just six points off of turnovers.
