GAMES NOTES: The San Francisco Dons will try to halt a four-game losing streak on Thursday night when the Santa Clara Broncos come to War Memorial Gymnasium for a West Coast Conference rematch.

Things have not been going well for Santa Clara recently, with the Broncos losing three straight and four of their last five contests. Santa Clara's only win during the stretch came against the Dons, 74-69. Santa Clara is 12-6 overall, but the win over San Francisco was the only one in four league contests. The Broncos, who are 3-2 in away contests will also be on the road Saturday against Pepperdine.

The first loss to Santa Clara began this four-game slide the Dons are currently on. All four losses came during league play for San Francisco which is still in search of its first conference victory. San Fran is just 7-10 overall but has a mark of 6-3 at War Memorial Gymnasium. The Dons will host Loyola Marymount next.

The win earlier in the season improved Santa Clara's all-time advantage between these long-time rivals to 110-101.

For the third straight contest, and the fourth in the last five games, Santa Clara allowed an opponent to score more than 80 points in a 82-64 rout at the hands of BYU on Saturday. The Broncos shot just 38.5 percent in the game, while allowing the Cougars to net 53.6 percent of their shots from the floor.

The Broncos are led by a trio of double figure scorers. The top option is Kevin Foster (19.3 ppg, 4.5 apg, 2.8 spg) who is among the top 10 players in the conference in scoring, assists and steals. Foster actually ranks at the top of the WCC in thefts. Though he has scored a lot Foster has not been efficient shooting less than 40 percent from the field. Also making solid contributions from the backcourt is Evan Roquemore (13.5 ppg, 6.4 apg) who tied with Saint Mary's Matthew Dellavedova for the top spot in assists in the conference. In the frontcourt Marc Trasolini (15.5 ppg, 8.0 rpg) has been a force both on offense and on the glass. As a team the Broncos are scoring a very impressive 77.4 points per game, which ranks 29th nationally, while assisting on the 16th-most field goals per game (16.6) in the country.

Despite shooting 51 percent from the field, including a 9-of-18 showing from beyond the arc, San Francisco just couldn't get over the hump against Saint Mary's in its last outing. The Dons trailed fore the entirety of the second half with the deficit growing to as many as 10 points.

San Francisco has shot better than Santa Clara overall (.460 FG percentage) but has been scoring at a much lower rate by putting in 70.1 points per game. The Dons are also the second-worst team in the WCC in terms of assists (12.2 pg) and rebounds (33.9 pg). The Dons have largely kept teams in range though, even in conference play with all four of their losses coming by six points or fewer. Overall the Dons allow 68.7 points per game on 44 percent shooting. Double-double machine Cole Dickerson (15.2 ppg, 11.0 rpg) leads the squad both on the glass and on the scoreboard. The 6-foot-7 forward is also the lead rebounder in the conference. Feeding Dickerson the ball frequently is Cody Doolins (13.4 ppg, 6.2 apg) who is among the top five players in the conference in assists and steals. De'End Parker is the third and final member of the team scoring in double figures.

The Dons have been circling around a win in each of its four league contests, including the first with Santa Clara, but have come up short each time. They should reverse that trend in this game with home court advantage.
