(Saturday, February 9) Final Score: Hofstra 65, UNC-Wilmington 56 Wilmington, NC (Sports Network) - Stevie Mejia had a game-high 18 points, and the Hofstra Pride rallied for a 65-56 win over the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks in Colonial Athletic Association play from Trask Coliseum. Stephen Nwaukoni scored 12 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to help the Pride (6-18, 3-8 CAA) snap a seven-game losing streak and earn their first road win of the season. Taran Buie added 10 points in the victory. Keith Rendleman (10 rebounds) and Cedrick Williams tallied 13 points apiece to pace the Seahawks (9-15, 4-8). Hofstra struggled out of the gate, shooting just 8-of-26 (.308) from the floor in the first half as UNCW built a 31-21 halftime lead. However, after the Seahawks went ahead 33-21 in the opening minute of the second half, Hofstra put together a 10-0 spurt to cut the deficit to two with 16 minutes to play in regulation. The Pride took the lead on a 3-pointer by Matt Grogan with 11:48 remaining, and they later went on a 16-3 run to go up by 11 with two minutes to play.
