Troy, AL (Sports Network) - Ray Chambers had a game-high 18 points and hit a crucial free throw in the final minute to lift the Troy Trojans to a 57-56 win over the Georgia State Panthers in a non-conference tilt at Trojan Arena.

Chambers also brought in seven rebounds for Troy (5-7) which snapped a five- game losing streak. Emil Jones added 11 points and eight rebounds and Jeff Mullahey chipped in 10 points off the bench.

Devonta White scored 13 points to lead Georgia State (5-5). Manny Atkins contributed 12 points and James Vincent added 10 points. Both Atkins and Vincent were a rebound shy of a double-double. The Panthers have lost back- to-back games.

Troy led comfortably, 30-16, at halftime after shooting 46.4 percent in the first half while limiting Georgia State to 23.8 percent shooting and just five first half field goals.

The Panthers rallied in the second half by netting 50.0 percent of their shot attempts while the Trojans cooled to 38.5 percent shooting. Georgia State led 56-54 with just over a minute remaining but Antoine Myers made a layup to even the score with 1:05 left.

Atkins and Vincent each missed a shot on Georgia State's next possession and Chambers was fouled on the other end. After making the go-ahead free throw Chambers missed his second attempt.

R.J. Hunter missed a 3-pointer on the Panthers' ensuing possession and Antoine Myers was fouled after collecting the rebound. Myers missed the first free throw and Atkins corralled the rebound. Vincent was fouled by Chambers with one second remaining but missed both free throw attempts as the Panther rally fell short.

Troy outscored Georgia State 16-8 on points off of turnovers and allowed the Panthers to assist on only four field goals.
