(Tuesday, November 13th) Final Score: Stony Brook 54, Rider 46 Lawrenceville, NJ (Sports Network) - Dave Coley and Anthony Jackson each scored 12 points, as Stony Brook posted a 54-46 win over Rider. Jameel Warney contributed nine points and nine rebounds for the Seawolves (3-0), who blew an 11-point lead in the second half of the early Tuesday morning start before again pulling away. Nurideen Lindsey scored 17 points and Anthony Myles added 14 for Rider (1-1), which beat Robert Morris in its opener last Friday. The Broncs built a 17-11 lead midway through the opening half, but Stony Brook took control with a 17-0 run. Scott King's three gave the Seawolves the lead at 18-17 and Ron Bracey's layup with just over a minute left made it 28-17. Rider scored the last four points and went into the break down seven, but Stony Brook again opened an 11-point edge early in the second half. A trey by Myles started Rider's comeback, igniting a 15-4 spurt that Daniel Stewart capped with a dunk to tie it at 41-41 with just over four minutes remaining. Coley answered with a jumper to put Stony Brook back on top and Jackson added a bucket just over a minute later as Rider went cold. Lindsey's triple with just under a minute to play ended the Broncs' three-minute field goal drought and made it 48-45, but the Seawolves hit each of their six free throws from there to seal it. Stony Brook finished 19-of-24 from the line, while Rider was just 8-of-14 from the stripe. 11/13 09:11:17 ET Powered by The Sports Network. |
