Auckland, New Zealand (Sports Network) - Top-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska beat Belgian Yanina Wickmayer, 6-4, 6-4 on Saturday to claim the ASB Classic title.
The Poland native Radwanska captured her 11th career WTA championship, this one on hardcourts.
"I played five good matches here without dropping a set so I'm ready for the Australian Open," said Radwanska. "I want to at least get to the semifinals there."
After securing a relatively easy first-set win, Radwanska led the second set, 5-2 before Wickmayer battled back to make it 5-4.
In the decisive game, Wickmayer fought off several match points, but was eventually denied what could have been her fourth career win and second ASB title in four years. She won this event in 2010 and was the runner-up in 2011.
Saturday's finale marked the third head-to-head meeting between the pair as Radwanska now holds a 2-1 edge.

Radwanska will collect $40,000 for winning this tournament, which serves as a tune-up for the Australian Open, which starts Jan. 14.
