Description: According to Ken Gurnick of Dodgers.com, reliever Brandon League won't be on the team's postseason roster.
Insight: The embattled Carlos Marmol and Edinson Volquez were also omitted from the roster. League didn't really deserve a roster spot after recording a dismal 5.30 ERA during the regular season. Kenley Jansen will function as the Dodgers' postseason closer.

Description: Dodgers manager Don Mattingly was unwilling to name a permanent closer Tuesday. When asked who his closer is, Mattingly said, "I don't know. We'll see." SOURCE: MLB.com.
Insight: Mattingly wants League to be the closer, which frees up Kenley Jansen, Los Angeles' best reliever, to be used as needed in the seventh or eighth. However, League has a 5.51 ERA and blew his second save of the season Sunday. Jansen also has struggled as of late, allowing two runs in each of his last two appearances.

5/16/2013 10:06:00 AM
Description: Dodgers closer Brandon League tossed a scoreless inning to pick up his ninth save of the season Wednesday against the Nationals.
Insight: League is teetering on the edge of losing his job to Kenley Jansen, but manager Don Mattingly went to Jansen to get the final out of the seventh inning and to pitch the eighth Wednesday night. Instead of moving Jansen to the ninth, Mattingly might want to save his better reliever for the high-leverage situations and leave League where he is. After all, League is 9-for-10 on save chances despite carrying a 5.87 ERA.

Description: Dodgers manager Don Mattingly says he has thought about mixing up his closer role, but he doesn't want to mess up his bullpen right now with the team already struggling. SOURCE: Bill Shaikin, Los Angeles Times
Insight: League is 8-for-9 on save chances, but he has allowed runs in seven of his last 10 appearances and picked up a loss in each of his last two appearances. He owns a 5.40 ERA and a 7/4 K/BB in 13 1/3 innings. Meanwhile, last year's closer Kenley Jansen has a 2.12 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 17 innings.

4/25/2013 4:43:00 PM
Description: Dodgers closer Brandon League blew his first save of the season Wednesday night and allowed a solo homer to Ike Davis to lead off the ninth inning Thursday afternoon, but he recorded three straight outs to close out a 3-2 win.
Insight: League has six saves, a 4.00 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP with just three strikeouts in nine innings. His hold on the closer role is tenuous with Kenley Jansen looming, but he'll keep it for now.

2/15/2013 1:44:00 PM
Description: According to an AP report, Dodgers reliever Brandon League will begin the season as the team's closer.
Insight: League did the job for Seattle in 2011, but struggled last season and lost the closing job. He was traded to Los Angeles in midseason and when Kenley Jansen was sidelined in late August League went 6-for-6 as the Dodgers closer. This will not make fantasy owner of Jansen happy.

10/30/2012 8:50:00 PM
Description: Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reports that the Dodgers have re-signed reliever Brandon League.
Insight: Hernandez said the deal is for three years. League pitched well for Los Angeles after coming over in a trade from the Seattle Mariners, posting a 2.30 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in 27 1/3 innings. League is expected to be the team's closer.

10/27/2012 8:57:00 PM
Description: Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reports that the Dodgers are in discussions with reliever Brandon League about a new contract.
Insight: If League returns to the Dodgers it will be as a setup man, meaning he'll only have fantasy value in leagues where holds count for points.

6/10/2012 4:36:00 PM
Description: Brandon League appears to be close to winning back the closer's job in Seattle.
Insight: Since his blown save May 25th against the Angels, League has an ERA of 1.35 in six appearances. It looks like League got the message from manager Eric Wedge and it shouldn't be long before we see him working the ninth inning again.

Cold5/26/2012 6:58:00 PM
Description: Brandon League has been relieved of his duties as closer after blowing his fourth save of the season Friday against the Angels.
Insight: League has only converted two saves in his last five oppotunities and his ERA is over seven in the month of May. Eric Wedge has not named a new closer though Tom Wilhelmsen (1-1, 4.44 ERA in 23 appearances) could be a possibility.

5/17/2012 4:27:00 PM
Description: Brandon League blew his third save of the season on Thursday against the Indians. League gave up two runs on two hits and three walks while getting only one out.
Insight: Cleveland simply owns League. The Mariners closer is just 2-for-9 in save chances with a 9.18 ERA in his career against the Indians.

4/26/2012 10:25:00 PM
Description: Brandon League converted his seventh save of the season Thursday afternoon against the Tigers. It's League's seventh save in eight chances this season.
Insight: The Mariners closer (1.69 ERA) is now tied for the major league lead in saves and has been one of the bigger surprises in fantasy up to this point in the season.

3/28/2012 11:44:00 AM
Description: Brandon League picked up the save in the Mariners' Opening Day win over Oakland in Tokyo.
Insight: League has a firm grasp on the closer role in Seattle. He saved 37 games last season and had a 2.79 ERA. Don't expect many strikeouts, however.

5/14/2011 6:59:00 AM
Description: Mariners closer Brandon League allowed 3 runs in just 2/3 of an innings to blow the save against the Indians.
Insight: League celebrated the news that David Aardsma would be out for another month by promptly blowing the save. League will keep the job for now so keep him in your roster if you need saves.

4/2/2011 11:13:00 PM
Description: Brandon League notched his first win of the season today closing the door on the Athletics in the Mariners five to two win.
Insight: League has been viewed as the potential successor to David Aardsma in Seattle for a while now. Aardsma should be back in late April barring any setback. Given the fact the Mariners shopped Aardsma in the off season though, League could very well end up racking up a decent amount of saves for Seattle by years end.

3/18/2011 7:32:00 PM
Description: Mariners RP Brandon League allowed 4 runs against the Diamondbacks, giving up just one hit.
Insight: With David Aardsma out, League is in line to open the season as the M's closer. A few more outings like this and League could be in trouble.

1/10/2011 10:03:00 AM
Description: League could open the season as Seattle's closer after David Aardsma's hip surgery proved more extensive than expected.
Insight: League has just eight career saves, six of which came last year. He has posted WHIPs of 1.25 and 1.19 the past two seasons, though, his two busiest years. Of course, fantasy owners know that anyone in line for saves is worth some attention. (RapidDraft.com)
