With upcoming move to AL, Astros unveil new look

Houston, TX (Sports Network) - The Houston Astros held a party Friday night to unveil their new look as they prepare to join the American League for the 2013 season.

The team introduced a pair of logos, four uniforms and three hats, which will be worn next year. The team is sprinkling a bit of its past into the new look by using a full star logo with a block letter 'H' in the middle of the star, which was worn on the Astros hats from 1965-1993.

Current players Jose Altuve, Lucas Harrell, Jordan Lyles and Justin Maxwell were on hand at Minute Maid Park to model the uniforms, which include home whites, with orange piping, and road grays, with blue piping. The club will also wear an alternate orange jersey, with blue piping.

"We're really excited about moving forward," Astros owner Jim Crane said. "When we designed the new uniforms, we took the fans' input, we had fan focus groups. We talked to a lot of the players, even the most important people, the people that wash the uniforms got involved."

The Astros will move from the National League Central to the American League West for next year.
