(Saturday, September 25th) Final Score: British Columbia 29, Calgary 10 Calgary, AB (Sports Network) - Paul McCallum kicked six field goals and British Columbia downed Calgary, 29-10, preventing the Stampeders from clinching at least second place in the Western Division and a home playoff date. Jamal Robertson gained 140 yards on 18 carries and scored the lone touchdown for the Lions (4-8), who won for the third time in four games. They also snapped an eight-game skid to the Stampeders. Henry Burris completed 11-of-26 passes for 136 yards, but was picked off twice for Calgary (9-3), which lost its second in a row. They also had an 11-game home unbeaten streak broken. Drew Tate finished 8-of-13 for 88 yards and a score through the air for the Stampeders. "I haven't seen that kind of football around here very often," said Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel. "Full credit to BC - their players and their coaching staff. They played an excellent game tonight, but we didn't play near good enough to give ourselves a chance." McCallum kicked field goals of 20, 42 and 38 yards in the opening quarter, which gave the visitors a 9-0 lead after 15 minutes. Calgary had a golden opportunity after recovering a Casey Printers fumbled early in the second, but Rob Maver missed an 18-yard field goal off the right upright. McCallum added two field goals in the second quarter, the last a 21-yarder in the waning seconds of the half. Maver's short kick early in the third put Calgary on the board, but McCallum split the uprights from 28 yards and then a safety moved the BC lead to 20-3 going to the fourth. BC's only major of the game came on Robertson's 55-yard TD burst up the middle late in the fourth, and Tate threw a 12-yard scoring pass to Landan Talley.
