Final Score: Seattle 1, Columbus 1

Columbus, OH (Sports Network) - A second-half penalty kick from Emilio Renteria allowed the Columbus Crew to extend its unbeaten streak to seven games as the club played to a 1-1 draw with Seattle Sounders FC at Crew Stadium on Saturday.

Seattle (3-3-4) jumped out to an early lead in the seventh minute when Erik Friberg's free kick was played to the front of goal and flicked past goalkeeper Will Hesmer by the head of Fredy Montero.

But it was Columbus (3-1-4) that had the better of the play over the rest of the half with Eddie Gaven getting into the box on the right and having his low shot saved by goalkeeper Kasey Keller.

Gaven then went close from six yards after a cross from Renteria, but saw his shot go just wide.

However, the home side equalized after Chad Marshall was fouled inside the penalty area by Seattle's Patrick Ianni, allowing Renteria to send Keller the wrong way from the spot.

The Crew had one final chance in stoppage time to snatch all three points, but Keller tipped a free kick from Andres Mendoza over the crossbar.
