Final Score: Kansas City 2, Chicago 0

Bridgeview, IL (Sports Network) - The Kansas City Wizards kept their slim playoff hopes alive with a 2-0 win over the Chicago Fire in Major League Soccer action at Toyota Park on Tuesday night.

Goals by Davy Arnaud and Teal Bunbury on each side of the half propelled the visitors to the necessary win.

Now, all the Wizards (10-12-6) need to do is hope the Colorado Rapids fail to gain a point at Los Angeles on Saturday night to keep their playoff hopes alive for another week.

If the Rapids take one point from either of their final two games, or the Wizards fail to win any of their two remaining games, Kansas City will be eliminated and Colorado will clinch the last spot.

Arnaud got Kansas City on the board with a goal in first-half stoppage time. Kei Kamara fed a ball to Bunbury, who slid a pass to Arnaud on the left side of the penalty area. Arnaud then curled a one-time shot around Fire goalkeeper Andrew Dykstra for his sixth goal of the season.

That was how the score stayed until the 80th minute when a Josh Wolff through- ball sprung Bunbury in the Fire area, and he powered a shot past Dykstra for his fifth goal of the season.

Both teams are back in action on Saturday, with Chicago (8-12-8) hosting D.C. united and Kansas City traveling to take on the New England Revolution.
