Final Score: Toronto 2, Houston 0
Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Toronto FC's Dwayne De Rosario scored two
second-half goals, including the game-winner four minutes into stoppage time,
to top the Houston Dynamo, 2-1, at Robertson Stadium on Saturday night.
With the win, just its second on the road this season, the Reds (8-10-7) keep
their slim playoff hopes alive. Toronto is currently five points back of
Seattle Sounders FC for the last playoff spot with six games remaining.
The Dynamo (6-13-5), who have virtually no chance at the second season, have
lost three straight and five of six. They are in last in the Western table.
Houston got on the board first with Brian Ching's seventh goal of the season
when he headed home a Brad Davis service in the 18th minute.
But TFC got the equalizer at the hour mark when De Rosario smacked a free-kick
through a shaky defensive wall for his 10th goal of the season.
That's how the score looked like it would stay until Houston defender Eddie
Robinson took down De Rosario just outside the penalty area in the closing
seconds. De Rosario then smack an almost carbon copy of his first goal through
the defensive wall and past a diving Pat Onstad for the 2-1 advantage.
The Dynamo hope to get back in the win column at Kansas City on Wednesday,
while TFC hosts San Jose next Saturday in its next MLS fixture.
