Final Score: Chivas USA 2, New England 0

Carson, CA (Sports Network) - Chivas USA rebounded from a tough 3-0 loss last weekend at Colorado to top the New England Revolution, 2-0, in Major League Soccer action at the Home Depot Center on Friday night.

Goals by Justin Braun and Paulo Nagamura and two assists from Alan Gordan led the Goats (7-12-4) to their second win in their last three league fixtures.

The Revs, on the other hand, looked outmatched from the opening whistle, dropping their fourth in their last five.

Chivas USA went up early when Braun tallied his ninth goal of the season. Gordan cut between two defenders and powered toward the middle of the field before playing a sublime ball to Braun cutting into the area. Braun then made no mistake with the chance, flicking it past New England goalkeeper Matt Reis for the 1-0 advantage in the sixth minute.

Nagamura scored his first goal of the season 30 minutes later when Gordan laid a Michael Lahoud ball to him at the top of the New England penalty area. Nagamura then unleashed a rocket past Reis for the 2-0 advantage.

The Revs inserted speedy wingers Khano Smith and Sainey Nyassi in the second half, while switching to a 2-5-3 formation in an effort to get back in the game, but were unable to crack the Chivas USA defense.

New England (7-13-3) will try to rebound at Colorado next Saturday, while Chivas USA will aim to build on the solid effort when it hosts Kansas City a day later in its next MLS fixture.
