Final Score: San Jose 1, Seattle 0

Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Chris Wondolowski scored in the 11th minute and the San Jose Earthquakes defeated Seattle Sounders FC 1-0 on Saturday at Qwest Field.

San Jose (5-2-1) won for the fifth time in its last seven matches, a span that includes five wins, and for the second time in four road matches this season.

Seattle (3-4-3) lost for the third time at home this season, which is one more loss than all of last season. The Sounders have just one win in their last six overall.

Wondolowski converted the lone goal of the match, his fifth of the season, off assists from Bobby Burling and Brandon McDonald. The ball was crossed in from the right and sneaked over traffic in the middle of the area to Wondolowski at the far post, and he beat Kasey Keller from just a few yards.

San Jose goalkeeper Joe Cannon had three saves for his fourth straight shutout and fifth of the season.

San Jose hosts Toronto FC on May 29, when Seattle visits the Colorado Rapids.
