Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Donovan Ricketts made just one save to earn his ninth shutout the season Saturday in a 0-0 tie against Toronto FC at BMO Field in MLS.

L.A. (10-1-3), which leads the Western Conference by nine points, has allowed just four goals all season and have posted 10 shutouts.

Toronto goalie Stefan Frei had four saves, three against L.A.'s Tristan Bowen, for his fifth shutout of the year. TFC (5-4-3) extended its unbeaten streak at home this season to six matches, which includes four wins and two draws.

Los Angeles created its lone shot on goal in the opening half in the 26th, but Bowen's attempt was saved by Frei.

Toronto equaled L.A.'s one shot on goal in the final 10 minutes of the opening half, but Dwayne De Rosario's effort was saved by Ricketts.

Bowen tested Frei with a long-range effort early in the second half, but the FC goalie easily handled the shot for his second save. Bowen followed with yet another shot on goal in the 62nd, but Frei again made an easy stop.

De Rosario created space for a shot from 20 yards in the 75th but shot wide of the right post. Toronto earned its first corner kick of the game seven minutes later but failed to create a shot.

Gabe Gala had one last chance for Toronto in the 84th, but he launched a cross from De Rosario well high.

Toronto returns to action Thursday when the Houston Dynamo visit BMO Field and L.A. hosts Seattle Sounders FC on July 4.
