Final Score: FC Dallas 1, D.C. United 0

Frisco, TX (Sports Network) - FC Dallas used a late Jeff Cunningham tally to edge D.C. United, 1-0, in Major League Soccer action at Pizza Hut Park on Saturday night.

Cunningham, who had been thwarted numerous times earlier in the game by poor touches, broke through the United defense in the 68th minute after a brilliant through-ball from David Ferreira, and played the shot past goalkeeper Bill Hamid.

The win is the second this week for Dallas (2-1-4), which failed to earn the full points in its first five games this season.

United (1-6-0), on the other hand, couldn't string together consecutive wins after earning its first in a mid-week fixture vs. Kansas City.

Dallas will aim to string together a third win in a row when it travels to take on the expansion Philadelphia Union next Saturday, while United hopes to get back in the win column vs. the Colorado Rapids later the same night in its next league fixture.
