Final Score: Los Angeles 3, Philadelphia 1

Carson, CA (Sports Network) - Edson Buddle added two more goals to his league- leading total - as well as an assist - as the Los Angeles Galaxy earned a 3-1 win over the expansion Philadelphia Union at The Home Depot Center in Major league Soccer action on Saturday night.

Buddle has now factored in on all 10 goals the Galaxy (5-0-1) have scored through six games this season - scoring nine while assisting on the other.

A.J. DeLaGarza was the first Galaxy player not named Buddle to score a goal this season, just 53 seconds into Saturday's match when he slide into the six- yard box to knock home a Buddle cross.

Buddle scored a goal of his own about 25 minutes later to give L.A. a 2-0 advantage when he pounced on a rebound and knocked it past goalkeeper Chris Seitz from close range.

Just before the first-half break Buddle added his second goal of the game when he took a Landon Donovan pass after the U.S. international star streaked into the area and played a ball square. Buddle took a touch and fired home to give his side a comfortable 3-0 advantage.

Things got worse before the break for the Union after Stefani Miglioranzi was given a red card, forcing his team to play down a man the entire second half.

Jack McInerney was able to pull a goal back for Philadelphia in the 84th minute, but all that did was break Donovan Ricketts' shutout bid.

The Galaxy jump right back into action with a fixture at Colorado on Wednesday, while Philadelphia (1-4-0) plays at Real Salt Lake next Saturday in its next MLS fixture.
