Santa Clara, CA (Sports Network) - The San Jose Earthquakes won their second
straight Major League Soccer fixture, 2-0 over the New England Revolution at
Buck Shaw Stadium on Saturday night.
Chris Wondolowski and Ike Opara scored second-half goals to lead the 'Quakes
past the Revs.
The game was a stalemate until Wondolowski's tally in the 57th minute. Joey
Gjertsen started the chance by winning a 50-50 ball in the midfield before
playing to forward Ryan Johnson. Johnson then drove past a number of defenders
to the top of the New England penalty area before playing a diagonal ball into
the box that Wondolowski one-timed past Preston Burpo.
Opara added the insurance goal in the 72nd minute when he headed home a Bobby
