Final Score: D.C. United 2, FC Dallas 2

Frisco, TX (Sports Network) - FC Dallas and D.C. United battled to a 2-2 draw in Major League Soccer action at Pizza Hut Park on Saturday night.

The draw lifts United into a tie with New England for third in the Eastern Conference table following the Revs' 4-2 loss to Kansas City earlier in the night.

The Hoops, on the other hand, stay stuck second-from-the-bottom in the Western Conference table with just 24 points after 23 league fixtures.

FCD got the game's first goal in the 18th minute after Jeff Cunningham converted a Dave van den Bergh feed, before United was able to equalize just before the interval.

Marc Burch scored his first goal of the season in the 44th minute after striking a low, hard free kick from distance that beat Dallas goalkeeper Dario Sala to tie the score at one.

But Dallas was able to go up a goal just five minutes after the break on another set-up from Van den Bergh. The Dutch winger fired a cross to the middle of the penalty to Ferreira from the left side, over United defender Julius James, to David Ferreira. Ferreira then chested the ball down and fired past goalkeeper Wicks for the 2-1 advantage.

But United got the equalizer just eight minutes later when Daniel Torres took down Santino Quaranta in the penalty area, earning a red card for denying a goalscoring opportunity.

Jamie Moreno scored on the PK, his seventh goal of the season, to ensure the visitors would earn a share of the points.

United (7-5-12) will try to earn the full points when it hosts Kansas City on Wednesday, while FCD (6-11-6) will be looking for the same at Los Angeles next Saturday in its next league fixture.
