Sandy, UT (Sports Network) - The Houston Dynamo and Real Salt Lake battled to a scoreless draw at Rio Tinto Stadium in Major League Soccer action on Saturday night.

The teams combined for eight yellow cards and two ejections, but were unable to find the score sheet.

Houston's Andrew Hainault was the first player to hit the showers after earning two cautions in a 28 minute span in the first half.

But RSL (7-8-6), which is battling for every point to get back in the playoff race, was unable to take advantage before Clint Mathis earned his second yellow in first-half stoppage time, forcing the teams to play the second half 10-v-10.

But neither team was able to find any rhythm and the game remained scoreless.

Houston (11-6-6) will aim to extend its lead atop the Western Conference when it hosts Seattle next Sunday, while RSL travels to new England earlier the same day in its next MLS match.
