Final Score: Chivas USA 2, New York 0

East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - Chivas USA snapped a five game losing streak with a 2-0 win over the hapless New York Red Bulls, 2-0, in Major League Soccer action at Giants Stadium on Saturday night.

Maykel Galindo and Eduardo Lillingston scored on each side of the half to lead the visiting Goats to the win, which was the Los Angeles club's first since June 6.

Galindo got things started with a goal in the 15th minute, which snapped a 336 minute scoreless span by Chivas USA over the previous four games.

Galindo took a perfectly weighted diagonal ball from Chukwudi Chijindu in the New York penalty area before taking a touch and firing a left-footed shot past Bouna Coundoul for his third goal of the season.

That was how the score stayed until the closing minutes of the match when Chivas USA took advantage of a defensive breakdown by the Red Bulls (2-16-4).

After loosening up the defense with a couple of passes, Michael Lahoud played a long ball into space in the offensive third that Gerson Mayen ran onto. He then played a ball across the box to Lillingston for an easy tap-in goal in the 92nd minute.

The goal was Lillingston's team-leading seventh of the season.

New York, which is on pace for one of the worst record in MLS history, dropped it's sixth straight and the 11th of its last 12 with the loss. The Red Bulls will aim to finally get back in the win column when they host FC Dallas next Sunday, while Chivas USA hosts Toronto FC next Saturday in its next MLS match.
