Final Score: Dallas 1, Colorado 1

Commerce City, CO (Sports Network) - Omar Cummings scored in the 84th minute to help the Colorado Rapids earn a 1-1 draw with FC Dallas on Wednesday at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

David Ferreira put the visitors ahead in the 37th minute with his second goal of the season, but Cummings scored with six minutes to play after a nice pass from Mehdi Ballouchy, allowing the Rapids (5-2-6) to extend their unbeaten streak to eight games.

Dallas (3-7-5) has now lost just once in its last seven matches, but the team remains in seventh place in the Western Conference, just two points clear of last-placed San Jose.

Colorado had the better of the play throughout most of the first half, with Nick LaBrocca in particular getting a few good looks at goal.

LaBrocca's first chance came in the 15th minute with a hard right-footed shot from outside the area that was parried by Dallas goalkeeper Ray Burse, while six minutes later, LaBrocca forced another save from Burse, this time from just inside the box.

A good build up in the 31st minute allowed Colin Clark to fire a low shot on goal, but Burse got down and made the save, doing well to hold the ball.

The Hoops only created one good chance in the first half, but it was all they would need to give them the lead.

Kenny Cooper took a pass at the edge of the area with his back to goal before chipping the ball wide on the right to Ferreira. He took a touch, drew goalkeeper Matt Pickens off his line, and lifted the ball over the keeper to give Dallas a 1-0 lead against the run of play.

LaBrocca had another chance right before halftime after a good left-wing cross from Clark found him at the back post, but he headed the ball over the net.

The Rapids picked up where they left off in the first half, applying steady pressure to the Dallas defense, but finding it difficult to break them down.

Cummings had a chance in the 66th minute when he dribbled into the box on the right and flashed a shot past the far post, while Terry Cooke's cross from the right was headed just wide by Ugo Ihemelu with nine minutes to play.

However, the equalizer arrived in the 84th minute when Ballouchy slipped a pass to Cummings at the top of the box and he fired into the bottom left corner, earning a point for his side.
