Final Score: Houston 3, Dallas 1

Frisco, TX (Sports Network) - The Houston Dynamo earned their fifth straight Major League Soccer victory, 3-1, over Texas rivals FC Dallas on Saturday night at Pizza Hut Park.

With the victory, the Dynamo move into a tie with Chivas USA atop the Western Conference table, although they have a game in hand.

Cam Weaver, who was just acquired from San Jose earlier this week, scored two goals sandwiched around a Richard Mulrooney goal to provide all the offense the visitors would need.

Weaver opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Brian Mullan controlled the ball in the FC Dallas corner, drove toward the penalty area and fired a hard, low cross across the goal mouth. Weaver got a piece of the cross and deflected it past Ray Burse for his second goal of the season.

Mulrooney doubled the visitors lead in the 37th minute when a Stuart Holden corner kick was headed away by the FCD defense to the middle of the field. Mulrooney then collected the loose ball and unleashed a volley from distance that found the back of the net for his first goal of the season.

Weaver makes it 3-0 just after the hour mark when he took a square ball right in the middle of the FCD area, after some loose defending. He then one-timed the pass into the top right corner of the net for his second goal of the game.

Drew Moor got his third goal of the season just four minutes later, but it was too little too late as FCD lost its seventh match of the season.

Houston (8-2-3) is back in action next Saturday vs. Real Salt Lake, while FCD (2-7-4) will try to rebound vs. Columbus the same day in its next MLS match.
