Final Score: Kansas City 1, Los Angeles 1

Carson, CA (Sports Network) - The Kansas City Wizards and Los Angeles Galaxy battled to a 1-1 draw at The Home Depot Center on Saturday night.

After the two teams played to a scoreless draw for the first 80-plus minutes of the game, they traded goals by Davy Arnaud and Edson Buddle in the final 10 minutes to earn a share of the points.

Kansas City, which was badly outplayed in the first half, got its first break when L.A. defender Gregg Berhalter was given a red card for pulling down Wizards striker Claudio Lopez just outside the penalty area, denying a goal scoring opportunity.

The visitors finally took advantage of the extra attacker in the 84th minute when a Roger Espinoza cross from the left side was headed toward the goal by Herculez Gomes. Arnaud got his foot on Gomez' diving header to direct it into the net for his fourth of the season.

But the Galaxy got the equalizer three minutes later when Landon Donovan played a through-ball into space in the K.C. area that Buddle ran onto before ripping a left-footed laser in, near post, past Wizards goalkeeper Kevin Hartman.

The Galaxy (1-1-9) will try to break their five-game winless streak when they travel to Toronto next Saturday, while the Wizards (4-4-4) are back in action vs. Columbus the same day in their next MLS match.
