Final Score: San Jose 2, Real Salt Lake 1

Santa Clara, CA (Sports Network) - The San Jose Earthquakes snapped a five- game losing streak with a 2-1 victory over Real Salt Lake at Buck Shaw Stadium on Saturday night.

Goals by Cornell Glen and Arturo Alvarez gave the home side a comfortable advantage before RSL forward Robbie Findley pulled one back in the late stages of the game.

After the two Western Conference sides battled to a scoreless first half, Glen scored his first goal in his first game in an Earthquakes uniform, snapping home a Mike Zaher cross in the 52nd minute.

Zaher, also making his first appearance in a 'Quakes uniform, starting at left back, also got an assist on the team's second goal about 10 minutes later. He started the chance by feeding Alvarez in the offensive third before the midfielder unleashed a rocket that found the back of the net from distance, past the outstretched hands of RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando.

Findley scored his sixth goal of the season with 10 minutes to go, but that was as close as RSL could get as it closed out a winless May schedule, going 0-4-2.

The 'Quakes (2-7-2) will try to earn their second straight victory when they travel to take on FC Dallas next Sunday, while RSL (3-6-2) will aim to get back in the win column vs. Rocky Mountain rival Colorado next Saturday in its next MLS match.
