Kansas City, KS (Sports Network) - Toronto FC prevailed, 3-2, at the Kansas
City Wizards on Saturday night in an action packed, back-and-forth Major
League Soccer thriller to open the season for both teams.
The Reds' Jim Brennan opened the scoring before TFC's Amado Guevara and K.C.'s
Davy Arnaud traded two second-half goals apiece as Toronto hung on for the
precious road win.
Brennan's goal in the 33rd minute was made possible by a solid feed from
Dwayne De Rosario, playing his first game for his home-town team after coming

Rosario found the defender, who roofed a perfect shot with his left foot, just
under the crossbar.
Guevara and Arnaud traded goals in the 53rd and 56th minutes, respectively, to
make it 2-1, TFC.
Guevara struck first when he took a pass at the edge of the Wizards' penalty
area, deked past a defender and fired a shot past goalkeeper Kevin Hartman to
double the visitor's side's lead.
But Arnaud pulled one back just three minutes later when he blasted a 25-yard
bomb into the top right corner of the net, past rookie goalkeeper Stefan Frei.
Guevara put his side back up by two goals in the 62nd minute, however,
before Arnaud blasted another shot home 14 minutes from time to close out the
With the Wizards pressing for the equalizer late, De Rosario fired a penalty
kick well over the crossbar, but the Wizards (0-1-0) weren't able to take
advantage as Toronto (1-0-0) hung on for the win.
