Final Score: Houston 2, Los Angeles 2

Carson, CA (Sports Network) - David Beckham and Landon Donovan combined on two goals as Los Angeles rallied from two deficits and came within inches of a win in a 2-2 tie against the Houston Dynamo on Saturday.

Donovan had both goals and has five of the Galaxy's six this year - he notched an assist on the other - to lead Major League Soccer in scoring.

His first goal was a sensational diving header off a perfect Beckham cross and his second came with six minutes to play on a sliding effort at the far post.

Edson Buddle nearly gave L.A. (1-2-1) the win in the 90th minute but Houston's Patrick Ianni, who heard choice words from Donovan earlier in the half after a foul, headed the ball off the line.

Buddle's header appeared to cross the line, but as Donovan stood a few feet in front of the net pleading for a goal, play continued and L.A. settled for the draw.

Two-time defending MLS Cup winner Houston (0-1-3), which got goals Brad Davis and Franco Caraccio, has tied its last three matches but is the only winless team remaining in the league.

Davis, who drilled a free kick off the crossbar in the 26th minute, opened the scoring in the 36th minute with his first goal of the season. Brian Mullan and Caraccio assisted on the goal.

The Dynamo maintained the lead until the 67th minute when Donovan, who turned a confrontation with Ianni into motivation, scored the great diving header.

A few minutes before the goal, Ianni drove his shoulder into Donovan to knock him to the ground with Dynamo goalie Tony Caig already in possession of the ball.

After staying on the ground for an extended period, Donovan got up and yelled toward Ianni and referee Mark Geiger.

After scoring his first goal with Ianni defending him, Donovan stood over the Dynamo defender and yelled at him.

L.A. was inspired by the U.S. national team forward but Houston countered with Caraccio's second goal of the season in the 79th minute.

Brian Ching set up the goal with a shot off the crossbar that deflected to the left side where Caraccio was waiting. He sneaked a shot past Galaxy defender Abel Xavier at the left post.

Beckham and Donovan hooked up again five minutes later. This time Beckham sent a cross to the far post and Donovan managed to knock the ball in despite being fouled.

Buddle's header from the left appeared to completely cross the line, but Ianni did enough to keep the ball out of the net despite Donovan's pleas no goal was awarded.

Dwayne De Rosario gave Houston one last shot at leaving The Home Depot Center with a win, but his header from inside the box in stoppage time sailed high.

Houston visits Columbus on April 26 in search of its first victory. L.A. hosts Chivas USA on April 26.
