Oduro fires Crew past Impact
Montreal, QC (Sports Network) - Dominic Oudro's goal 12 minutes from time proved to be the difference on Saturday as the Columbus Crew rallied for a 2-1 victory over the Montreal Impact at Saputo Stadium.
Columbus entered the match in need of a rebound performance following a 3-0 thumping at the hands of Sporting Kansas City last week, but it was the Impact that had the better of the chances early on.
Montreal grabbed the first goal of the match in the 23rd minute when Marco Di Vaio headed home a Patrice Bernier corner kick for his league-leading 18th goal of the season.
But the second half belonged to the Crew as they drew level in the 66th minute when Chad Marshall headed home a Federico Higuain free kick for his first goal of the season.
The Crew then found the winner in the 78th minute when Oduro deflected one past Montreal goalkeeper Troy Perkins for his 10th tally of the campaign.
Montreal remains on 45 points, while the Crew improved to 35 points from 29 matches, keeping their faint playoff hopes alive.
