Description: Dallas Clark has decided to hang up his cleats.
Insight: Clark played for three teams in his 11 seasons. His best season came in 2009 when he reeled in 100 catches for 1,106 yards and ten touchdowns. He'll officially retire as a Colt on Wednesday.

Description: Ravens tight end Dallas Clark won't be active for Sunday's game against Minnesota.
Insight: Dennis Pitta has replaced him in the starting lineup. It appears Clark's days of fantasy significance are over, at least for this season. Expect him to be a healthy scratch the rest of the way.

Description: Dallas Clark has agreed to join the Ravens. SOURCE: Adam Schefter, ESPN
Insight: With Dennis Pitta and Ed Dickson both out with injuries, this just made too much sense not to happen. He's not one of the top-tier tight ends anymore but Clark can still be productive. Keep an eye out for him in fantasy.

Description: According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, free agent tight end Dallas Clark could have a new team by the end of this week.
Insight: Signing with the Ravens, who are now without starter Dennis Pitta (broken hip) and backup Ed Dickson (torn hamstring), would make the most sense. Clark reeled in 435 receiving yards in 16 games for the Buccaneers last season.

Description: With the status of Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez up in the air, the Patriots might look to pursue free agent tight end Dallas Clark. SOURCE: ESPN Boston
Insight: Gronkowski has been battling injuries on and off for the last eight months while Hernandez is facing charges for obstruction of justice and hasn't been ruled out as a suspect in the murder of Odin Lloyd. Clark has 50 receiving touchdowns on his resume and was a very productive player for the Colts from 2003 to 2011. In 16 games for the Buccaneers last season, Clark collected 435 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
5/21/2012 1:38:00 PM
Description: The Bucs have reportedly worked out Dallas Clark and are serious about making an agreement for 2012.
Insight: This news seems to align with the recent statement from current Tampa Bay starting tight end Kellen Winslow that he's "not wanted" by the organization. Clark is a top fantasy tight end when healthy.
5/2/2012 8:32:00 PM
Description: Dallas Clark visited the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday.
Insight: Kevin Boss already signed with Kansas City earlier this offseason so if they add Clark, he'd probably be reduced to some sort of backup role. The last time we checked, backup tight ends don't have much value in fantasy (unless you're talking about New England, where tight ends double as wide receivers). Clark's injury-riddled past doesn't help his fantasy prospects.
3/19/2012 4:30:00 PM
Description: With Peyton Manning apparently about to sign with the Denver Broncos, free agent Dallas Clark could follow.
Insight: Clark has been injury-prone of late, playing just 17 of the last 32 games, but his relationship with Manning both on and off the field can't be questioned. If he can stay healthy, he's a better receiving option than Daniel Fells, Dante Rosario, Virgil Green or Julius Thomas. This would be a good signing for Denver and fantasy owners.

Description: Coach Jim Caldwell said Monday that Dallas Clark (leg) has a "significant" injury that will last "more than a week. Source: Phillip Wilson via Twitter
Insight: Fantasy owners may finally have the out they've been looking for to drop Dallas Clark. This is looking like a multiple week injury that could take him out of the rest of the season. Jacob Tamme will draw the start and the Colts are going to look at brining in a backup.
3/16/2011 10:02:00 PM
Description: Clark has said his recovery from last season's wrist injury is right on schedule.
Insight: The veteran expects to be fully ready well ahead of the 2011 season. We'll see how quickly Peyton forgets about Jacob Tamme. (

Description: "After consulting with the Colts' medical staff and second-opinion specialists, tight end Dallas Clark will have wrist surgery next week and will go on injured reserve, the club announced Friday." SOURCE: COLTS.COM
Insight: If you owned Clark, snatch up Jacob Tamme now. He may not be as big a fantasy player as Clark, but he does have upside with Peyton Manning throwing him the ball. Obviously, keeper-league owners will want to stand pat and look for another option for the rest of this year.

10/5/2010 1:00:00 AM
Description: Clark scored for the third time in four games on Sunday and is on pace for what would be a career-high 112 catches.
Insight: Clark has remained central to the Colts pass offense despite the emergence of Austin Collie. He's a must-start across formats. (
9/27/2010 10:04:00 AM
Description: Clark caught five passes for 44 yards in Sunday's win at Denver.
Insight: There was some concern that the combo of a returning Anthony Gonzalez and Clark inside would limit Austin Collie's numbers this year. The opposite seems to be true for Clark, who nevertheless remains a weekly starter. (
9/13/2010 8:05:00 PM
Description: Despite missing just about all of the exhibition schedule, Clark returned to catch 11 passes for 80 yards and a score in the opener.
Insight: Phew. Guess Clark's knee is OK. (
8/24/2010 11:00:00 PM
Description: Dallas Clark (leg) might sit out the rest of the preseason, but he insists he'll be good to go for Week 1.
Insight: It appears as though he will be good to go for the season, but keep checking back on him to make sure he hasn?t suffered any setbacks. (

Description: Though Dallas Clark has been declared out for Sunday's preseason opener against the 49ers, coach Jim Caldwell downplayed the tight end's left leg injury. SOURCE: NFL.COM
Insight: At this point, Clark's injury doesn't sound too serious and the Colts are just going to take it easy with their TE.
