Dolphins' Martin won't play again this season

Davie, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Miami Dolphins placed Jonathan Martin on the reserve/non-football illness list Saturday, ending the embattled offensive tackle's season.

Safety D.J. Campbell was promoted from the practice squad to fill the roster spot vacated by Martin, who abruptly left the Dolphins in October and alleged he was bullied by teammates.

The move to end Martin's season came after Dolphins guard Richie Incognito, at the center of Martin's allegations, reportedly agreed to extend his suspension until NFL special investigator Ted Wells concludes his inquiry into the club's workplace conduct.

Martin, 24, had started all 23 Dolphins games since he was taken in the second round of the 2012 draft up until he left the team.

Campbell was promoted for the second time this season since being signed to the practice squad Oct. 7. He appeared in Miami's last three games before being waived on Monday and re-signed Wednesday.
