Description: Chicago infielder Orlando Hudson is a career .274 hitter and batting just .197 this season, but against Aaron Cook he is a .415 hitter (.17-for-41).
Insight: Hudson doesn't play every day, but if you see that manager Robin Ventura has installed him in the White Sox lineup its an opportunity to play Hudson.

6/25/2012 7:41:00 PM
Description: Chicago third baseman Orlando Hudson will not be a part of the White Sox starting lineup Monday against the Twins.
Insight: Hudson (.194, 2 HRs, 22 RBIs) won't be seeing much playing time anymore now that the White Sox have acquired Kevin Youkilis so it's probably best to drop Hudson if you still have him.

6/20/2012 7:52:00 PM
Description: White Sox third baseman Orlando Hudson is not featured in the starting lineup for Wednesday night's game against the Cubs.
Insight: With a .194 batting average and just two homers in 60 games this season, it appears that Hudson's days of being fantasy relevant are over.

6/3/2012 10:50:00 AM
Description: White Sox third baseman Orlando Hudson should have a strong game Sunday against Seattle starter Kevin Millwood. Hudson has hit safely in eight of his 19 at bats versus the Mariners righty.
Insight: Hudson hasn't given his fantasy owners much to smile about in 2012 (.209, 1 HR, 15 RBIs, 4 SBs) but we'd expect that to change Sunday against Millwood.

5/21/2012 8:17:00 PM
Description: Orlando Hudson is expected to play mostly third base when he arrives with the White Sox.
Insight: Third base is an area of need for Chicago now that Brent Morel is headed to the DL with a bulging disk in his back. Playing in a new environment might rejuvenate Hudson offensively and his eligibility at second and third base is a plus but we'll need to see him actually hit a little bit before we can endorse Hudson as a reliable fantasy option.

5/20/2012 8:05:00 PM
Description: Though the deal isn't official yet, it appears that Orlando Hudson is headed to the White Sox and could suit up for them as soon as Tuesday against Minnesota.
Insight: Now that it looks like Brent Morel is headed to the disabled list with a sore back, the White Sox need an infielder and who better than Hudson, a two-time All-Star with the Dodgers and Diamondbacks. Hudson (.211, 1 HR, 11 RBIs) was let go by the Padres earlier in the week.

5/17/2012 5:06:00 PM
Description: Orlando Hudson has been designated for assignment by the Padres.
Insight: Hudson was hitting just .211 with 1 HR and 11 RBIs in 35 games so this shouldn't come as too big of a surprise to anyone. The 34-year-old second baseman has suited up for five major league teams in his career with his best season coming in 2006 with Arizona (.287, 15 HRs, 67 RBIs). Hudson hit .246 with 7 HRs, 43 RBIs and 19 stolen bases in 119 games for San Diego last season.

4/27/2012 11:47:00 AM
Description: Orlando Hudson extended his hitting streak to nine games with a triple on Thursday.
Insight: It was only 10 days ago that rumors circulated that Hudson would be released if he didn't raise the level of his play. Hudson has responded by going 10-for-32 (.313) with three triples, a homer and four RBIs. However, he still isn't worth owning, as he hasn't been relevant in fantasy since 2009.

Cold4/22/2012 3:48:00 PM
Description: Orlando Hudson has not been effective in his career against Joe Blanton. He is just 2-17 lifetime against the Phillies righthander.
Insight: Hudson really hasn't been effective against anybody this season (.163). Leave Hudson where he belongs: on the waiver wire.

3/29/2012 4:03:00 PM
Description: Orlando Hudson was unable to make his return to the Padres' lineup today. Hudson's sore hip has healed but now he is sick. Hudson hasn't played in a spring training game in over a week.
Insight: If Hudson can conquer this illness in time, he could make his return tomorrow night against the Giants. 2011 was a down year for Hudson. He contributed just seven homers and 43 RBIs in 119 games.

Description: San Diego Padres second baseman Orlando Hudson left Wednesday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals with a strained left groin. SOURCE: Yahoo Sports
Insight: Hudson has struggled since his return from a right leg injury and now he is injured again. Don't be surprised if another DL stint is in his future.

3/31/2011 6:03:00 PM
Description: Orlando Hudson hit a game tying home run against Ryan Franklin, with two out in the bottom of the 9th inning.
Insight: Hudson could be a useful 2b/MI option in deeper leagues, but don't expect big power numbers from him. Especially with him playing in Petco for 81 games a year..

12/17/2010 7:53:00 PM
Description: Orlando Hudson has signed a two-year, $11.5 million deal with San Diego. SOURCE: ESPN
Insight: Hudson doesn't carry a lot of offensive potential at this point. He is coming off a poor season and is moving to a weak offense in a pitcher's park. Mixed league owners will likely want to look elsewhere.

11/30/2010 2:01:00 PM
Description: SI.com's Jon Heyman reports Hudson will decline arbitration from the Twins.
Insight: Hudson hit .268 with six home runs and 37 RBI for the Twins in 2010 and still plays capable defense, so he should have no issue finding a new team. (RapidDraft.com)

11/30/2010 12:57:00 PM
Description: Twins 2B Orlando Hudson will reject arbitration and will become a free agent. SOURCE: Jon Heyman via Twitter
Insight: Hudson is still a solid 2B and can provide decent value in runs with double digit steals.

9/21/2010 1:05:00 PM
Description: The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports Hudson (shoulder) left Monday night's game against Cleveland with a sore shoulder, but he is expected to play on Tuesday.
Insight: The Twins have basically clinched the AL Central, so they may choose to give some of their regulars some rest. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: Orlando Hudson left last night's game with a sore shoulder. SOURCE: JOE CHRISTENSEN ON TWITTER
Insight: He is hoping to play today so the injury isn't considered serious.

9/4/2010 4:52:00 AM
Description: Orlando Hudson returned to the lineup last night. He had missed almost a week with a sore ankle.
Insight: He should be fine to leave active in all leagues from now on.

9/3/2010 5:05:00 PM
Description: The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports Hudson (right foot/ ankle) is in Friday night's starting lineup against Texas.
Insight: Hudson has missed the past two games, but tests have shown no structural damage. (RapidDraft.com)

9/1/2010 11:04:00 PM
Description: MLB.com's Kelly Thesier reports, via Twitter, that Hudson (right ankle) had an MRI on his right ankle on Wednesday and is considered day-to-day.
Insight: Hudson originally injured his ankle on Saturday, but was able to play the next two games. He may sit out for a few days, just to be safe. (RapidDraft.com)
