Description: The Red Sox have signed former Giants outfielder Andres Torres to a minor league deal.
Insight: The 36-year-old will start out in Single-A Lowell but should be up with the big club soon. Torres would be an upgrade over Grady Sizemore, who has been brutal in his first season with Boston (.220, 2 HR, 14 RBI).
7/7/2013 1:17:00 PM
Description: Giants center fielder Andres Torres can't be trusted Sunday against Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw.
Insight: Torres has been horrible against Kershaw with 11 strikeouts in 31 at bats (.065 batting average). You'll leave him on your bench if you know what's good for you.
4/14/2013 12:43:00 PM
Description: San Francisco outfielder Andres Torres won't be in the lineup Sunday against Chicago. It's probably because he's been such a poor hitter against Cubs righthander Edwin Jackson throughout his career.
Insight: Torres is just 2-for-13 against Jackson with five strikeouts. He whiffed three times against the Cubs on Saturday and hasn't hit a home run since October. Torres shouldn't be a part of your team's fantasy plans in 2013.
12/13/2012 6:20:00 PM
Description: The Giants have reached a one-year agreement with Andres Torres. The outfielder played three seasons in San Francisco before being traded to the Mets for Angel Pagan last season.
Insight: Torres had some fantasy value in 2010 when he hit .268 with 16 homers and 26 RBIs but he's been below average at the plate over the past two seasons.
8/9/2012 10:17:00 PM
Description: Mets center fielder Andres Torres finished a single shy of the cycle Thursday afternoon against the Marlins.
Insight: The home run was just Torres' second of the season and he is still hitting only .242 for the season. Consider Thursday's strong performance an anomaly.

Insight: Torres (.222, 1 HR, 24 RBIs) is 0-for-8 in the series with three strikeouts.
4/30/2012 6:08:00 PM
Description: The Mets activated Andres Torres from the 15-day disabled list on Monday.
Insight: Torres aggravated a calf injury from spring training while chasing a ball on Opening Day. Torres is expected to lead off and play CF but he's not likely to have much fantasy value right now. Angel Pagan, the player Torres was swapped for in the offseason, remains a better fantasy player and should be added before Torres.
4/5/2012 4:43:00 PM
Description: Andres Torres left the Mets season opener against the Braves after reinjuring his left calf. He will be placed on the DL.
Insight: Torres suffered with the calf strain in the spring, but he appeared to be healthy for the start of the season. He came up limping while chasing down a ball in the gap. Be prepared to be without Torres for at least two weeks.
3/29/2012 4:58:00 PM
Description: Andres Torres has been dealing with calf issues this spring, but he is still expected to be ready for Opening Day.
Insight: Torres is slated to be New York's everyday centerfielder. Torres wasn't anything special last season (.221, 4 HRs, 19 RBIs) but he put up decent stats in 2010 (.268, 16 HRs, 63 RBIs, 26 SB). If you own Torres in fantasy, you should be hoping that the 2010-Torres shows up again.
5/13/2011 7:50:00 PM
Description: Giants OF Andres Torres went 3-5 in today's loss to the Cubs, scoring twice and stealing a base.
