NCAA Game Summary - Virginia at Green Bay

Green Bay, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Greg Mays scored 24 points to lead the Green Bay Phoenix to a 75-72 home win over the Virginia Cavaliers in a non- conference game at the Resch Center.
Keifer Sykes contributed to the win by tallying 21 points and 10 assists for the Phoenix (5-3). Starting forward Jordan Fouse displayed quick hands all night by contributing eight steals to go along with a team-high six rebounds.
Malcolm Brogdon led the Cavaliers (7-3) with 17 points and six rebounds. Anthony Gill and Joe Harris netted 12 points apiece, while Akil Mitchell and Justin Anderson each scored 10.
A back-and-forth first half ended 37-31 in favor of Green Bay. The score was tied 17-17 after the opening ten minutes and was locked at 30-30 with 1:25 in the half. Neither team could grab a significant advantage until the Phoenix scored on a 3-pointer, two free throws and a layup in the final 90 seconds to take the lead.
The Cavaliers scored the first four points of the second half, but the Phoenix responded with a 11-0 run to take a 48-35 lead. UVA slowly crept back, tying the score at 69 after a Malcolm Brogdon 3-pointer with 1:51 left in the game. After back-to-back layups by the Phoenix, Justin Anderson hit a 3-pointer to get the Cavaliers within a point. After Keifer Sykes hit his two free-throws with eight seconds left, Justin Anderson missed a potentially game-tying 3- pointer to close out the contest.
The Phoenix shot 51 percent overall for the game and Virgina shot 50 percent from the floor in both halves. However, the Cavaliers could not overcome their 14 turnovers.
Sykes has scored at least 20 points in six straight games.
