Description: The Panthers have claimed WR Devin Thomas off waivers from the Redskins. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: The Panthers are desperately looking for receiver help, but Thomas shouldn't be counted on as someone who can start across from Steve Smith once Smith is healthy. He still isn't fantasy relevant.
10/9/2010 11:01:00 PM
Description: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports, via Twitter, that the Redskins have released Thomas.
Insight: Thomas has been a disappointment thus far in his NFL career, but he could latch on with a team that needs a wide receiver. (

Description: The Redskins have released WR Devin Thomas. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Thomas fell down the depth chart early as soon as Mike Shanahan came to town, failing to beat out an aging Joey Galloway and an unknown Anthony Armstrong. He could get interest from a receiver-needy team, but he is not on the fantasy radar.
10/4/2010 1:04:00 PM
Description: National Football Post reports the Redskins are actively trying to trade Thomas.
Insight: Thomas has been relegated to special teams all season, so a change of scenery could be what he needs. (

Description: The Redskins are reportedly looking to trade WR Devin Thomas. SOURCE: NATIONAL FOOTBALL POST
Insight: There could be one or two teams that may throw out a late-round pick for receiver depth, but Thomas isn't the answer for a team that needs desperate help. Thomas can't get past an aging Joey Galloway and an unknown Anthony Armstrong.
9/27/2010 5:01:00 PM
Description: Thomas has zero receptions through three games.
Insight: Thomas is buried on the Redskins' WR depth chart, but he is the team's kickoff returner for what that's worth. (

Description: With Redskins WR Anthony Armstrong (groin) doubtful, WR Devin Thomas could play receiver this weekend. SOURCE: WASHINGTON POST
Insight: With his main role being on special teams, it would be great to see Thomas get a decent amount of work in the offense and prove his worth to the coaching staff. However, continue to avoid him.
9/23/2010 2:03:00 PM
Description: Redskins WR Devin Thomas was completely left out of the offense in the overtime loss to the Texans. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: What a waste of a draft pick. Considering Thomas can't even get past Anthony Armstrong and Roydell Williams on the depth chart, he is no longer fantasy relevant. Drop Thomas ASAP.
9/7/2010 11:03:00 PM
Description: The Washington Post reports Thomas is listed as a third-stringer on the Redskins' latest depth chart.
Insight: Thomas seems to have a long way to go to become fantasy relevant after being a potential sleeper heading into draft season. (
9/2/2010 2:07:00 PM
Description: According to multiple sources, Redskins WR Devin Thomas is "definitely on the [roster] bubble." SOURCE: WASHINGTON EXAMINER
Insight: With Malcolm Kelly (hamstring) on injured reserve, the Redskins 2008 draft is looking like a dud with regards to the receivers. Thomas looked like he had a promising fantasy year ahead of him with Donovan McNabb in town and is still talented, but he should be off draft boards for the time being. It's hard to think Thomas would be released considering he also contributes on special teams.
9/2/2010 1:03:00 PM
Description: John Keim of the Washington Examiner reports Thomas is "definitely on the (roster) bubble."
Insight: Thomas may stick around with the Redskins, due to his perceived talent and special teams contributions. But he is currently pretty far down the team's WR depth chart. (
8/20/2010 9:37:00 PM
Description: According to the Washington Post, "it would not be surprising" if Devin Thomas begins to climb the depth chart in short order. SOURCE: Washington Post
Insight: We feel like a broken record here, but he just needs to avoid the mental mistakes in order to remain on the field and be a productive WR. We still like him in the west coast offense as a fantasy sleeper.
8/16/2010 12:56:00 PM
Description: Rick Maese of the Washington Post reports, via Twitter, that Redskins' head coach Mike Shanahan said Thomas' attitude has been "great" this year.
Insight: Thomas' committment to football has been in question in the past, so this is a good sign. He could earn the starting job opposite Santana Moss for Washington. (Rapid

Description: CSN Washington reports Thomas is excited to have Donovan McNabb as his quarterback.
Insight: Thomas, like the rest of the Redskins' receiving corp, gets a boost in fantasy value with McNabb under center. (
