Falcons WR Jones injures foot, season in doubt

Flowery Branch, GA ( - Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones injured his foot during Monday night's 30-28 loss to the New York Jets and will seek a second opinion on the severity of the injury.

"Julio injured his foot last night," said head coach Mike Smith. "He will have second opinion tomorrow (Wednesday) in Charlotte. First reports not encouraging."

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, citing an unidentified team official, Jones' injury could cost him the rest of the season.

Smith said on Tuesday that it's premature to assume Jones is out for the year.

Jones has 41 catches for 580 yards and two touchdowns for the 1-4 Falcons this season.
