Insight: After losing the Jon Lester sweepstakes, the Red Sox made a big move to bring Porcello in. he was solid last season going 15-13 with a 3.43 ERA and 1.23 WHIP. He's a career 2-1 in Fenway, but with an ugly 6.41 ERA and 1.475 WHIP, so be careful in expecting too much from him.

Insight: Porcello has not been the same pitcher of late, and Sunday was possibly the low-point. He went 3 1/3 innings, allowing nine hits and four earned runs. Porcello is now 15-12 with a 3.31 ERA on the year. Detroit will need him to get back on track, if they want to hold down the AL Central.

Insight: The Tigers rallied in the top of the ninth to take the lead, and Porcello was in line for the victory until closer Joe Nathan blew the save. Kennys Vargas scored both the Twins runs, on a Kurt Suzuki single in the fourth and his own solo home run in the sixth. Porcello is 15-11 with a 3.19 ERA and 122 strikeouts this year.

Insight: Porcello did strike out seven and only walked one, but Detroit just cannot get any consistency from his starting rotation. In the four game series against Chicago, Justin Verlander pitched great on Friday but Max Scherzer and Porcello threw below average starts. The 25-year-old will try to bounce back against red hot San Francisco in his next start.
