Hull seeks to build Morgan State football program
Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Morgan State introduced former Maryland wide receivers coach Lee Hull as its new head football coach on Thursday.
The 48-year-old Hull, the 19th head coach in Morgan State history, replaces Donald Hill-Eley, who the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference university did not bring back after 12 seasons. Hill-Eley was 59-76 overall and 5-7 this past season.
Morgan State, which last had a winning season in 2009, took an important step in going 5-3 in MEAC games this past season. It was the Bears' first winning record in conference play since 2003.
Hull spent the last six seasons at Maryland, mentoring such NFL wide receivers as Darrius Heyward-Bey and Torrey Smith. He had been the final holdover from the staff of former Terrapins coach Ralph Friedgen, who was fired in 2010.
Among his previous coaching experience, Hull was an assistant at Oregon State from 2003-07 and his alma mater, Holy Cross, from 1998-2002.
Hull was a wide receiver in the CFL from 1990-92.
