Description: Steelers wide receiver Markus Wheaton had one of his most productive days of the season in Week 15.
Insight: Wheaton had five catches for 66 yards and displayed his big-play ability with a 30-yard catch. The 66 yards was the most Wheaton has put up since Week 1.

11/30/2014 7:34:00 PM
Description: Steelers wide receiver Markus Wheaton had five catches for 61 yards against the Saints.
Insight: Wheaton has also started returning kicks, so he seems more involved in general. Moving forward, Wheaton and rookie Martavis Bryant will continue to share time next to Antonio Brown.

11/3/2014 10:11:00 AM
Description: Steelers wide receiver Markus Wheaton has scored in each of the last two games.
Insight: It's easy to score when your quarterback is throwing six touchdowns every weekend. The Steelers have developed a couple of youngsters (Wheaton, Martavis Bryant) to go along with Antonio Brown and it appears that defenses are incapable of stopping them.

Cold10/15/2014 8:16:00 AM
Description: Steelers wide receiver Markus Wheaton has failed to become the big-time receiver oppostire Antonio Brown that fantasy owners had hoped for.
Insight: It is a very friendly matchup, so in bigger leagues, fantasy owners should start Wheaton. Since a six-catch, 97-yard season opener, he's failed to crack the 60-yard mark in any game. Like the rest of the Steelers offense of late, he's let fantasy owners down.

10/5/2014 12:15:00 PM
Description: Steelers wide receiver Markus Wheaton is active against the Jaguars on Sunday.
Insight: It is a very friendly matchup, so in bigger leagues, fantasy owners should start Wheaton. He should see a lot of targets against the worst pass defense in the league.

10/2/2014 4:37:00 PM
Description: Pittsburgh WR Markus Wheaton is dealing with a groin injury and continues to be listed as limited in practice.
Insight: Wheaton might be a nice flier against the worst pass defense in the NFL if he can get himself healthy. He's caught at least four passes in each of the first four games this season, though he's still searching for his first touchdown.

9/10/2014 4:44:00 PM
Description: Pittsburgh WR Markus Wheaton was a nice surprise in Week 1 with six receptions for 97 yards and is a viable option in Week 2.
Insight: Wheaton was targeted seven times, one more than No. 1 receiver Antonio Brown. While that may not continue, we think he's worthy of a spot in fantasy lineups against the Ravens.

5/25/2014 9:59:00 PM
Description: According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, WR Markus Wheaton is expected to take the departed Emmanuel Sanders' place at X-receiver in the starting lineup.
Insight: Lance Moore will replace Jerricho Cotchery in the slot and may actually see more playing time in two-receiver sets than Wheaton. Sanders had 67 receptions, 740 yards and six touchdowns on 112 targets in the X-receiver role last season, while Cotchery had 46 catches, 602 yards and 10 touchdowns on 76 targets. Antonio Brown (110 rec, 1,499 yards, 8 TDs) will be back as Ben Roethlisberger's No. 1 target.

10/15/2013 2:18:00 PM
Description: Pittsburgh rookie wideout Markus Wheaton (broken pinkie) has already been ruled out for Week 7.
Insight: The rookie is still fourth on the receiver depth chart and has only been targeted a few times this season. His fantasy value is zero.

10/3/2013 5:17:00 PM
Description: Pittsburgh rookie Markus Wheaton had surgery to repair a broken pinkie and is questionable to play in Week 6, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. The Steelers have a bye in Week 5.
Insight: Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Wednesday that they will not evaluate Wheaton until he has his stitches removed. The rookie's snap count has risen every week and he had a season-high 36 snaps in Week 4 against the Vikings, but he is still fourth on the receiver depth chart and has only been targeted six times.

8/20/2013 9:11:00 AM
Description: Pittsburgh rookie Markus Wheaton has been showing the explosiveness that neither Emmanuel Sanders or Jerricho Cotchery have in their repertoire.
Insight: Wheaton has not yet surpassed the two veterans, but it appears that eventually it will happen. Taking the Oregon State rookie with a late-round selection could end up rewarding fantasy owners later in the season and the playoffs.
