Description: Jorge De La Rosa's season appears to be over after the Colorado Rockies left-hander tore a ligament in his pitching elbow.
De La Rosa left Tuesday's game against Arizona in the third inning with soreness in his left elbow and went to the hospital for an MRI.
About an hour after the Rockies' 12-4 win in the opener of a day-night doubleheader, the Rockies tweeted, 'Jorge De La Rosa suffered a complete tear of his ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow. The next step is being discussed.'
That likely means Tommy John surgery that would sideline the hard-throwing lefty for at least a year.
