Description: Washington right fielder Jayson Werth was hoping to be activated from the disabled list this Friday but now it looks like he'll need another two weeks to recover from his strained hamstring.
Insight: Amanda Comak from the Washington Times was the first to report the setback. Roger Bernadina (.132, 0 HR, 1 RBI) and Bryce Harper (.297, 11 HR, 22 RBI) will continue to see time in right with Steve Lombardozzi (.233, 0 HR, 6 RBI) making the occasional start in left field.

Description: Washington right fielder Jayson Werth's MRI showed no structural damage on his sore right hamstring, according to Mark Zuckerman of CSNWashington.com.

5/9/2013 10:10:00 AM
Description: Washington right fielder Jayson Werth is headed for an MRI on his injured hamstring.
Insight: He's been battling muscle spasms for the last week and at this point it wouldn't be surprising if he winds up on the DL. Werth's injury should open up more playing time for backup outfielder Roger Bernadina, though we wouldn't recommend him in fantasy (just one hit in his last 25 at bats).

5/8/2013 5:25:00 PM
Description: Nationals outfielder Jayson Werth is out of the lineup Wednesday against Detroit.
Insight: Werth hasn't played since aggravating his hamstring injury last Thursday, and he wasn't in the lineup Tuesday prior to the rainout. Nats manager Davey Johnson may just be keeping Werth out due to rainy weather in the forecast Wednesday. Werth's poor history against Wednesday's scheduled starter Anibal Sanchez -- 2-for-30, 19 K -- could have something to do with it as well.

Description: Although Nationals outfielder Jayson Werth is listed as probable as he recovers from a hamstring injury, he would be wise to wait until a better matchup to return to the field.
Insight: Werth is a career .167 hitter with 19 strikeouts in 30 at-bats versus Detroit's scheduled starter on Wednesday, Anibal Sanchez.

Insight: Werth is a career .167 hitter with 19 strikeouts in 30 at-bats versus Detroit's scheduled starter on Tuesday, Anibal Sanchez, so there was no need to rush him back into the lineup. He hasn't played since aggravating the injury last Thursday, but we could see him back Wednesday.

Description: The Nationals pinch-hit Roger Bernadina for Jayson Werth in the fifth inning, which means that one of Werth's injuries was giving him a problem.
