Description: Braves third baseman Juan Francisco belted an eighth inning grand slam Wednesday in a victory over the Reds.
Insight: It was his only hit of the game. Francisco has amassed a .493 slugging percentage this season, which is the second-highest of his career.

Description: Atlanta third baseman Juan Francisco (ankle) is not ready to return to the lineup, according to David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Insight: Francisco is dealing with a mild right ankle sprain and is day-to-day. However, he felt better Sunday and could return to the lineup early this week.

Description: Atlanta third baseman Juan Francisco injured his ankle Friday against the Mets and is doubtful for Saturday's game.
Insight: It looked a lot worse than the diagnosis which is a mild sprain and day-to-day status. Chris Johnson should get most of the playing time (.352, 2 HR, 9 RBI, .874 OPS) and could be a solid fantasy option.

Insight: Ramiro Pena has come on to take his place. Francisco swatted an RBI single before leaving the game.

Description: Braves third baseman Juan Francisco had the first multi-homer game of his career Tuesday against the Royals.
Insight: Francisco took Jeremy Guthrie deep twice with no one on base and also walked. He has three homers and seven RBIs this season and should continue to start at third base until Freddie Freeman returns to action, at which point Francisco and Chris Johnson will re-enter a platoon.

4/10/2013 10:14:00 PM
Description: Braves third baseman Juan Francisco picked up three hits Wednesday and hit his first homer of the season.
Insight: Francisco was 6-for-24 (.250) with zero extra-base hits and six strikeouts over his first seven games this season. Francisco will be the everyday third baseman, with Chris Johnson playing first, until Freddie Freeman comes off the DL.

Description: According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said Thursday that he expects to use a third-base platoon to start the season.
Insight: Juan Francisco and Chris Johnson have both played well this spring so Gonzalez isn't ready to call the race yet. Francisco came into Thursday batting .353 with five homers in 18 games, while Johnson is batting .352 with three homers in 20. Neither player offers much upside for fantasy owners.

5/24/2012 10:30:00 PM
Description: Juan Francisco hit his fifth home run of the season on Thursday against the Reds, his former team.
Insight: Francisco has started 18 games in place of Chipper Jones at third base, batting .215 with four home runs in those games. As a pinch-hitter or substitute, Francisco is just 2-for-15, dragging his average to the Mendoza line. Jones owners can likely do better than Francisco as their backup third baseman, but keep in mind the Jones-Francisco duo has combined for nine home runs this season, tied for third among third basemen (one of Francisco's five homers came as a pinch-hitter, a day he wouldn't have been in daily fantasy lineups).

Description: Atlanta utility infielder Juan Francisco will get the starts with Chipper Jones sidelined and did hit a home run on Monday night, but doesn't show enough with the bat to install into your lineup.
Insight: Francisco, over his four-year major league career, is a .265 batter with a .757 OPS. Neither number should have you jumping to add him to your roster.

Description: The Reds placed utility player Juan Francisco on the 15-day disabled list Monday with a strained left calf. SOURCE: Yahoo Sports
Insight: Francisco should not have been in your starting lineup anyway, so this news should not impact fantasy owners at all.
