White Sox roll on, defeat Rangers in series finale
Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Jordan Danks took over for an injured Avisail Garcia in right field and finished 2-for-3 with a homer, while John Danks tossed six strong innings as the Chicago White Sox took a 5-2 win over the Texas Rangers in the finale of a three-game series.
Danks (4-10) has won his past two starts as he gave up two runs on eight hits with a walk and five strikeouts on Sunday for the White Sox, who have won eight of their last nine games.
Matt Garza (3-2) gave up five runs -- four earned -- on seven hits and two walks over seven innings for the Rangers, who dropped the final two games of this set and hold a 2 1/2 games lead over Oakland for first place in the AL West. Jeff Baker provided Texas with its only runs on a a two-run homer.
