Zamberlin out as Idaho State coach
Pocatello, ID (Sports Network) - Idaho State has begun the search for a new head football coach after John Zamberlin was informed Sunday that he will be relieved of his duties following Saturday's season-ending game at Eastern Washington.
Zamberlin has a 6-38 record in four seasons with Idaho State, including a 4-27 mark in Big Sky games. The Bengals have lost nine straight games and are 1-9 this season.
"I deeply appreciate the work that coach Zamberlin has done representing Idaho State University both on and off the field," Idaho State director of athletics Jeff Tingey said. "His teams have been a stalwart in the community and have played hard on the field each week. But as I have observed the program over the past few years I have decided that a change is now necessary."
Prior to coming to Idaho State, Zamberlin compiled a 63-41 record in 10 seasons as Central Washington's head coach.
